About the Foundation

And The Scholarship

The educational focus of Alvas and Valerie Tulloss was not lost on their children. One by one, each of their children pursued and finished their educations. Among the educational achievements of the children of Alvas and Valerie Tulloss were: one PhD in Chemistry, one DDS, one Dental Hygienist and Educator, one Engineer, one Industrial Hygienist, and one Paralegal.

The highest honor their children felt they could bestow on their parents was to complete educational goals and then support the educational pursuits of others. Therefore, in January 2000 the Tulloss Family established The A & V Tulloss Educational Foundation. The first two $500 scholarships were awarded in August 2001. And from 2001 through January 2024, the foundation has awarded almost 50 scholarships to High School Graduates entering college, as well as students pursuing graduate degrees.

ABC’s of Character for People Around the World

If you’ve discovered this Educational Foundation through the ABC’s of Character for People Around the World book, welcome! This book was beautifully illustrated by Brian Hardison and written with love by the late Delores Mitchell-Tulloss, author, educator, speaker and supporter of education for people and communities around the world. Delores was the spouse of board member Charles Tulloss.  Please consider donating to the Educational Foundation today so that we may honor her memory by continuing to support young learners and their dreams for generations to come.
